Accordingly, most businesses elect to collect and put their policies and practices in one place and in writing. We help in the development and drafting employee handbooks, manuals and policies. Among other things, we assist in seeing that a client’s flexibility be preserved as much as possible and client’s preferences are implemented in a way consistent with applicable laws and regulations.
Executive and Equity Compensation. Businesses continually work to devise compensation systems to reward strong performance and align the interests of owners, managers and employees. We assist clients in the drafting, adoption and operation of such systems, such as restricted stock, phantom stock, stock option, stock appreciation and similar plans.
Discrimination and Harassment. We help employers prevent, investigate and respond to employee complaints of employment harassment or discrimination based on age, citizenship, disability, gender, national origin, pregnancy, race, religion or other prohibited basis.
Leaves, Terminations and Layoffs. Whenever it is necessary for an employee to take a leave of absence, be terminated or be laid off, it can be a sensitive matter for all concerned. We help businesses take such actions in ways that comply with applicable laws and regulations and minimize litigation risks, including through the use of severance and release arrangements.
